This picture depicts a scene of two zookeepers showing a group of kids a insect.
In their hands, they seems to be holding an grasshopper and the male zookeeper is looking at the group of students while the other is watching over the grasshopper in her hands. Most probably, they are showing how an grasshopper looks like. Perhaps this group of kids belong to the same school and was organized by some teachers to visit the zoo. They would perhaps inform the group of kids on how the grasshoppers behave in the wild life and let the kids have a feel of the grasshoppers. Looking at the way the zookeepers and the kids are dressed, I conclude that the region that they are locate din is rather cold as they are wearing thick clothing to keep warm. Although I can see the face of the kids in the picture, judging by the posture of their head, I believe they are interested in the insect that the zookeepers are presenting with. A possible reason for the kids to be interested might be that the teachers selected students who are interested in insects to go only.
I think this picture is taken in United Kingdom as the banner is in English and the way they dress is in English-style. This picture is taken in a classroom-like atmosphere.
Judging by the zookeepers' face, I can see that they like kids and enjoy showing off insects to them and teaching them about the various insects.
I feel that being a zookeeper can be both tough and fun. Tough in the sense that sometimes the animals may misbehave and fun in the sense that you can encounter from all walks of life as almost everyone will visit the zoos at least once. However, given a chance, i would not be a zookeeper as I prefer to have a much carefree life with different stuff to do everyday because a zookeeper has a same routine everyday in my opinion.
I guess that before the kids came for the grasshoppers activity, they had went for another insect touch-and-feel activity as they came to know more about insects. Perhaps the zookeepers are experts on insects and therefore can give a detailed information of the insects they are presenting with.
After this activities, I think when the kids come back, they will asked to write down what they have learned to ensure that they do not forget what they have learned that day and advised to revise periodically.
